DR. RAJ SALWAN, D.V.M.

Dr Raj Salwan has been around Veterinary Medicine his whole life. Dr. Salwan is a Second Generation Veterinarian and has grown up in a Veterinary family where he has been exposed to numerous cases in his lifetime. He completed his bachelors in 3 years and went straight to TUSVM Veterinary School where he graduated Summa Cum Laude and Valedictorian of his class.

Dr Raj Salwan was the recipient of the prestigious award from the American Animal Hospital Association for Excellence in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery. He was also honored by receiving the Merck Award for 4 consecutive years. He is a member of the prestigious Phi Zeta Veterinary Honor Society. In addition, he obtained the highest score in the National Board Examination.

In veterinary school, Dr. Salwan concentrated on the most advanced surgeries, techniques, and practiced the latest in state of the art care. Since then Dr. Salwan has taken numerous continuing education and has continued to learn new advances in the Veterinary field. Dr. Raj Salwan participated in a three month program at U.C. Davis School of Veterinary Medicine consisting of advanced focused study in Small Animal Medicine. He also spent one month advancing his radiography and ultrasound skills while at U.C. Davis.

Dr. Salwan has always wanted to be a veterinarian. “I have always wanted to be a veterinarian,” says Dr. Salwan. “I grew up around animals and I always understood pets. I shared an intuitive bond with pets that helped me connect with them and better understand them.”

As an elementary school student, he would invite all of the neighborhood dogs and cats to his house. As a junior high student at Centerville Junior High, he wrote multiple articles about Veterinary Medicine.

Dr. Salwan is currently a paid columnist with the Fremont Argus. He frequently writes about pets and how to best care for them. His vision is to educate the community and increase awareness of pet’s needs.

Dr Salwan also serves the City of Fremont as the Vice Chair for the Human Relations Commission as well as the organizer for Our Community – We All Belong forum that is sponsored by 20+ non-profits and the City of Fremont.

Dr Raj Salwan has personally performed over ten thousand surgeries and treated tens of thousands of internal medicine cases.

DR. DHARAM P. SALWAN

Dr Dharam P. Salwan, also known as Dr. Salwan Senior has over 40 years experience in the Veterinary field. He is the founder of American Animal Hospital and has made numerous contributions to the field of Veterinary Medicine in the Bay Area. He has enjoyed tremendous success in the field of Veterinary Medicine and has done it all. He has made animal health care accessible to everyone. Presently, Dr Salwan is semi-retired as a veterinarian.

Dr. Dharam Salwan is very actively involved in local community groups and personally donates to various organizations. He was the recipient of several honors and recognitions. He has been recognized by the California State Assembly on at least two occasions and he serves on several local boards. Dr. Dharam Salwan believes in giving back to the community that has given him a lot. He embodies the American dream and is a self-made man. Dr. Salwan has donated hundreds of thousands of monetary contributions to community groups and events.

As if his day job was not enough, Dr. Dharam Salwan also is a licensed building contractor, Certified Property Manager, CCIM member, MBA, homeopathic doctor, and a licensed real estate broker!
